MOUNTAIN VIEW SCHOOL

(Picture unavailable. Unless someone out there has one ???)

The Mountain View School was located on Pine Mountain between Peterson's Resort and the McKinley Mill, about a mile north of Peterson's. The first classes were held in the old shake barn owned by Linklater. The classes were fairly large and a school building was finally built. It started sometime around, or before 1888, and continued for 15 years or so before it finally lapsed. The building was destroyed by one of the numerous forest fires that often swept the area.

Minnie Ozenberger was teaching there about 1888-89.
